I am not the greatest cook at the moment, I will admit that however I am proud of how I managed to use a pack of 6 "sausages" in three entirely different ways across a few different days! I love Gosh!, they are free from all main allergens and now they are making sausages as well as burgers and falafel style bites.
My first dinner, well as soon as I bought them, I was convinced of doing Sausages, Mash, Peas and Gravy but I realised I didn't have any potatoes and well I was feeling a little lazy. I had also used half a tin of beans a few days prior so they needed to be eaten anyway right?!
So I had a traditionally English dinner, Sausages with Potato Waffles (no more in the freezer now!) and Baked Beans! For years I'd gone without Baked Beans as they were a trigger for me, fortunately I have recently found some that are natural without vinegar! Obviously I then have to make excuses to be lazy and have them with my dinner. This was just a recent excuse...
Back to the sausages. They are packed full of flavour, mainly tasting of Tomato and Basil, I couldn't taste the Butternut Squash as the other flavours were more overpowering. The sausages are quite squishy and of a similar texture to potato waffles, so together they perhaps weren't the best combination but nevertheless I still enjoyed it!
Second came lunch the following day, I decided to have the sausages with violife cheese melted over the top (didn't quite melt as great as the package describes) over a salad of mixed leaves, sweetcorn, tomato, cucumber and avocado. This was a great lunch, I usually have salad on it's own and it can be quite boring. Now, for just 15 minutes prep I can enjoy a much more flavoursome and wholesome lunch. I would definitely recommend this combination to those like me who aren't so good at cooking right now and need something quick and easy for a good healthy lunch.
I find myself being quite lazy towards meals sometimes, as when you are limited with eating or are feeling unwell a lot of the time, food isn't something you hold in high regard. I have started to change my relationship with food, less snacking on bad foods and having proper meals throughout the day. It's only been a few weeks so far but it seems to be going well!
Finally, I have been dying to have a sausage sandwich or something like a bacon butty/sausage bap for so long! Therefore, it was time to try and recreate this in a Becki Friendly way! I technically am not allowed yeast, however few and far between it is ok unlike my other allergens so I made an exception with the Dr Schar baguette. It is part baked which means when you cook it fresh it's fluffy, light and just like real bread, I used to have normal part baked bread and it was my absolute favourite, to rediscover this now is great just before Christmas!
Anyway, I had the Dr Schar baguette with some leaves, violife "melts great" unmelted cheese and sausages with some ketchup. It was absolutely incredible, the combination was exactly what I needed to create the ultimate Becki Friendly sausage sandwich!
I will review Gosh! properly when I have tasted a bit more of their range, done a bit of research where they can be found and understand a bit more of the company!
Right now, I give Gosh! a massive thumbs up and thank them for one great product!
