Gluten Free Vegans have Cheat Days too

Today was a day where I just needed something easy, comforting and where I didn't need to cook. I had some news that wasn't so good and I wasn't feeling up to being a super Vegan today, not that it's my reputation anyway! I've always said simple is better!

So due to this, it's going to be a short one today about my cheat day but I will be back with more of a bang tomorrow.

Breakfast is always nice and simple for me, I had a lovely bowl of Gluten Free Rice Krispies with Almond Milk and a sprinkle/rather generous spoonful of sugar! I'm really not a morning person so I never cook in the morning, the only time I cook Breakfast is when it is more Brunch... Chris actually cooked some Becki Friendly pancakes for himself yesterday which was crazy, he actually liked them!

Lunch is more of an event, today I decided Hula Hoops were the best thing right there and then. I had been tidying like crazy and I needed to have a snack before I actually was ready to do a slight bit of cooking. See I moved into my boyfriends place in September yet I haven't completely unpacked. A massive effort also a very tiring one, I needed a break a few hours in so lunch needed to be quick and very easy!

I made a wonderful sandwich using the new Asda free from Rolls. A grated Violife Cheese, Cucumber, Tomato, Leaves and Mayo sandwich. It was great, although keeping everything in the Roll was probably the hardest part of it!

Then came the news and I was in need of some hardcore comfort food, the only issue being I wasn't feeling a sweet kind of food. Annoying as I have finally found the Vegan Ben & Jerry's that I can have! So instead, I had one of the most beautiful burgers ever (previous blog for info) with a bit of Cheese and Mayo of course. They are always my go to (now I've discovered them) when I am feeling lazy, down or in need of a great dinner to comfort the saddest of souls!

Carrying on with the room, I managed to get it 100% done although only an hour ago. I wasn't greatly hungry yet I must stop not eating so I prepared another super quick dinner. Cheat meal number 3 of the day!

I boiled the kettle, cooked Gnocchi for 2 minutes and poured Pesto over it. Hey Pesto! (Sorry) It was a great simple yet yummy comforting dinner, with a side of leftover Warburtons Gluten Free Wrap as well.

It was so warming, hearty and filling which was just what I needed tonight. It's freezing cold outside, I'm tired and grouchy so I think a bowlful of indulgence is just what is needed and I guess it's still pretty healthy as well! It's hard to eat really badly when you are Gluten Free Vegan although today I am giving it a go.

I'm pretty sure I will crack open the Ben & Jerrys later, but I think that needs to be saved for another blog. It definitely needs angels singing, confetti and it's own theme tune for sure. Well, now I really hope it is as good as the regular Ben & Jerrys. No pressure.

That's it from me today, as promised, short but full of comfort food and an average Becki Friendly day! I hope you are all having a good Veganuary, let me know if you want anything specific reviewed or any topics you want me to cover! I'm not running out, just intrigued to see what people want to hear about!
