Pret A Manger has strangely been a very new discovery for me, my Dad had always seen Pret in a bad way for some reason and therefore I had never gone in there or thought it was a good place to eat. It was only when they launched their Veggie special ones in London that I started paying attention, plus there are 3 of them in Reading which must mean something!
I'm very glad I decided to give them a chance, they have some delicious options and all of them are so healthy!
People: Not much to say here as it is mainly a takeaway, the people have always been friendly however limited interaction is needed in order to get what I need! (Which is no bad thing, I love going places where I don't need to declare my many intolerances to the world!)
Food: Well it speaks volumes to say they have opened up a few special Veggie Prets, they feel the need to share their fresh healthy vegetarian and vegan food with the wider public. Their veggie fridge is always looking full of colourful salads, wraps, little pots and sandwiches!
For me, I always take a look at their salads and soups. Their salads are nearly all Becki Friendly, as they seem to understand they don't need to put gluten or wheat in anything that isn't a sandwich! FINALLY! It means that those with the main intolerances can have more options for their food.
Today and most times, I go with their Sweet Potato Falafel & Smashed Beets Veggie Box, there is just the right amount of veggies and the flavours are insane. It contains Sweet Potato Falafel, Brown Rice with Red Quinoa, Avocado, Broccoli, Pomegranate, Edamame, Spinach and Peas with a dollop of Beetroot Humous in the middle.
The Avocado is perfectly ripe as well, which is something I have as a pet hate... Avocado's need time to be ready for consumption!! I don't usually eat humous due to the sesame seeds but I had to have a little as the beetroot brings the whole dish to its full flavour potential!
Something has to be said about their soups, they always have a couple of veggie options and all soups are dairy & gluten free as a rule. This is absolutely brilliant, they recognise you don't need to put the main allergens in their dishes to make them delicious. Well done Pret!

Allergies/Intolerance: At Pret, you can tell they take allergies and intolerances very seriously, all dishes have a list of ingredients by them and also have a section which explains the main allergens the dish contains which is great for quick reference. I like Pret as I don't need to do any research before going or have the need to ask anybody, it can be one of my few unplanned places to eat!
I just love the ability to choose from a wide selection of veggie salads and soups, it means I can easily have one or the other, or both!
I am yet to discover desserts, but for that I think I will go to a Veggie Pret in London for a real treat!
